Who is Evelyn Farkas? The Smoking Gun per Russia?

Here’s a theory. Last year, President Obama—like the rest of the establishment—thought there was next to zero chance of Donald Trump winning the White House. With Hillary Clinton assuming the throne, he and his administration felt they could spy on Trump’s circle with impunity. He would be protected by the incoming Madame President…

Enter Evelyn Farkas, former aid to President Obama, who appears to have spilled the beans a few weeks ago on MSNBC. I think, like me, you’ll be amazed that nobody caught the implications of this clip (from March 2nd) until yesterday, when it started exploding on Twitter.

“we have good intelligence on Russia…that’s why you have the leaking. People are worried.”

But hold on, it get’s even better. Everyone remembers the ‘wiretapping’ tweet from President Trump, right? A Twitter account going by Journalism Is Dead did some sleuthing to help me find the original MSNBC clip as a possible source for what led the president to tweet about the Obama administration’s ‘wiretapping’ of Trump Tower, two days later. Watch the clip below.

It’s almost like she became so engrossed in the conversation that she didn’t realize she was outing herself as the smoking gun.

Oh, you’ll love how MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski interrupts the clip with, “(Uh-oh)…a lot going on today…” Pass the hot potato!

Whoa, what did she say?

  1. She helped spy on Trump for Obama before he left the White House
  2. Trump, not Russians, were the targets of surveillance
  3. She was concerned about hiding their methods from Trump
  4. She encouraged leaks because she was “worried” about Russians
  5. “People on the Hill” (Congress) knew about Obama’s spy plot (from Baxter Dmitri)

But wait, it get’s better. As I’m writing this story, which is blowing up all over conservative and libertarian Twitter, I thought, “I better take a second to search (Google) for how this story is being covered in the media.” I mean, it sounds very much like Evelyn outed herself as one of the sources for the March 1st New York Times bombshell alleging the Obama administration ‘rushed to preserve intel on Russian hacking.’

In the Obama administration’s last days, some White House officials scrambled to spread information about Russian efforts to undermine the presidential election — and about possible contacts between associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Russians…

Big story, right? Sorry. As of 11:00 p.m. ET, there are zero stories showing up in the “news” section of Google. Thanks Google and MSM!

Update: Here’s an interview with Evelyn Frakas
‘You’ll feel more “afraid” after talking to her…’

Full version:

Transcript: I was urging my former colleagues, and, and frankly speaking the people on the Hill [Democrat politicians], it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can – get as much intelligence as you can – before President Obama leaves the administration.

Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left; so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy, um, that the Trump folks – if they found out HOW we knew what we knew about their, the Trump staff, dealing with Russians – that they would try to compromise those sources and methods; meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.

So I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more.  We have very good intelligence on Russia; so then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were also trying to help get information to [Democrat politicians]

Here’s an interesting detail many people miss. President Obama is far less hawkish than Hillary Clinton on many foreign policy issues including Syria, Ukraine and Russia. The following is from The Intercept.

This attempt to equate Trump’s opposition to arming Ukraine with some sort of treasonous allegiance to Putin masks a rather critical fact: namely, that the refusal to arm Ukraine with lethal weapons was one of Barack Obama’s most steadfastly held policies. The original Post article that reported the RNC platform change noted this explicitly:

“Of course, Trump is not the only politician to oppose sending lethal weapons to Ukraine. President Obama decided not to authorize it, despite recommendations to do so from his top Europe officials in the State Department and the military.”

Flashback to November of 2015:

The Pentagon’s former top Russia policy expert, who stepped down last week, sought to get the Obama administration to take a harder line with Moscow — and remains concerned that Russian President Vladimir Putin will test the U.S. and its allies in other places. …(Evelyn Farkas) acknowledged she advocated for the administration to do more to deter Russia, including providing “lethal, defensive assistance to Ukraine, primarily anti-tank weapons.” She and others at the Pentagon advocating lethal aid have been overruled by the White House.

She also said that the administration should review its force posture in Europe and consider putting more troops further east and that top U.S. officials should spend more time in the region. – 2015 Politico

I bet Evelyn was looking forward to the more hawkish Mrs. Clinton winning in November.

Update from Evelyn. Clearly, she’s been working with Glenn Beck.

Russian bots…???

UPDATE:

This next part may be a bit far fetched, but I thought it was worth quoting.

Evelyn Farkas is also a senior fellow of the Atlantic Council –SEE HERE– the Atlantic Council is funded in part by the US State Department, NATO, the governments of Latvia and Lithuania, the Ukrainian World Congress, and the Ukrainian oligarch Victor Pinchuk. The Atlantic Council has been among the loudest voices calling for a new Cold War with Russia

And guess who else is a senior fellow of the Atlantic Council? Dimitri Alperovitch – the founder and CTO of CrowdStrike! Alperovitch is head honcho of the Atlantic Council’s “Cyber Statecraft Initiative”.

♦ CrowdStrike, aka Dimitri Alperovitch was the organization that initially claimed they had evidence the Russians were connected to the Trump organization.  A claim they have subsequently walked back – SEE HERE
