Imagine infiltrating those mystical computers of endowment at the Federal Reserve headquarters in DC and having the know-how to add 13 zeroes to those 5 dollars you’re required to keep in your savings account, thus becoming the one-man, overnight solution to the debt crisis in the eyes of Bernanke and Krugman.

Or better yet, having the ability to add millions to your account so you can quickly make rounds at the nearest ATMs and grab a ticket to some South American country where your connections then launder your funds for you, paving you the good life. The scenarios are endless…

Today, the Federal Reserve admitted to its computer systems being hacked.

The US Federal Reserve bank confirmed one of its internal websites was broken into by hackers after the hacktivist group Anonymous claimed via Twitter to have stolen details of more than 4,000 bank executives…

…Well, it isn’t quite infiltrating the all-powerful-Oz computer that magically reduces interest rates, but it’s getting there. Such are the pitfalls of placing unlimited power in one pot.
