Rand Paul mocks snotty John Kerry (Paul’s comic aspirations)
Senator Rand Paul has a history of attempts at comedy. In this clip he gives an impersonation of John Kerry in the act of disdaining those who would dare question the status quo position on foreign aid.
Well, people need to quit going around the country and stirring those people up…it may be a great applause line, but we don’t need to be doing that.
Senator Paul goes on to make a point more in the style of his father. “Do you think (poor people in Egypt) are happy with America when they get sprayed with tear gas that was made in Pennsylvania?”
Here is the actual exchange between Sec. Kerry and Sen. Paul that the senator seems to be referring to from last month.
If you really can’t get enough of Sen. Paul’s (awesomely awkward) attempts at stand up, you must go back to his first Congressional Correspondents’ Dinner in 2010. He makes fun of the Democrats being warmongers and even Fox News being confused on how to handle Obama’s warmongering. “Can’t we bomb the Middle East AND bash the president?” Not missing a beat, he switches to MSNBC. “You know, I think they just hated Republican wars…” Crickets…Priceless! The fun really gets going at 7:20, however–if you watch the whole thing–you’ll get some jokes about Aqua Buddha.
BREAKING: Senator Paul will be speaking tonight (5/10) at the Republican Party of Iowa’s Lincoln Dinner. It will air on C-SPAN at 8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central. You can also watch it online here: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/
