After Rand Paul’s interview, Rep. Peter King hurled accusations of lying against Senator Paul:
“I totally disagree with what Sen. Rand Paul says,” King said on “Fox News Sunday.” “That was just a grab bag of misinformation and distortion.”
If Paul was right and “billions of phone calls” were being collected, the Republican congressman from New York said, then the nearly 3,000 documented abuses of the records each year were miniscule.
“If you have a 99.99 percent batting average, that’s better than most media people do, most politicians do,” King said. “I have tremendous respect for Gen. [Keith] Alexander and the whole NSA. This whole tone of snooping and spying we use, I think it’s horrible. I think it’s really a smear and a slander of good, patriotic Americans.” – Politico
Rep. Justin Amash was interviewed on CNN this morning:
