John Kerry acknowledges NSA ‘reached too far’ on ‘auto pilot’
Well, that settles it. I’m sure everything is going to be all peachy now. President Obama is likely shredding the Bill of Rights for Snowden’s ticker tape parade at this very moment…
(UK Guardian 11/1/13) John Kerry, the US secretary of state, conceded on Thursday that some of the country’s surveillance activities had gone too far, saying that certain practices had occurred “on autopilot” without the knowledge of senior officials in the Obama administration.
The president and I have learned of some things that have been happening in many ways on an automatic pilot, because the technology is there and the ability is there…In some cases, I acknowledge to you–and so has the president–some of these actions have reached too far and we are going to make sure that that does not happen in the future.
