Even according to the Left Hillary is done
UPDATE: 305 of Hillary’s emails may contain classified material.
UPDATE 8/14/15: WASHINGTON (AP) — The two emails on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s private server that an auditor deemed “top secret” include a discussion of a news article detailing a U.S. drone operation and a separate conversation that could point back to highly classified material in an improper manner or merely reflect information collected independently, U.S. officials who have reviewed the correspondence told The Associated Press.
But where’s the smoking gun?
I’ve been monitoring blogs on the left and I think it’s safe to say that Hillary is toast when it comes to issues surrounding her email and private server. I’m going to turn now to comments found at the leftist site, Daily Kos that should clarify some issues for our readers.
If you aren’t caught up on the fact that the FBI has now seized Hillary Clinton’s private server go here and to the links you find there so you can understand what follows and the smoking gun about to be revealed…
The main rebuttal that Hillary’s campaign is using is that the classified emails were not classified top secret at the time they were sent to Sec. Clinton. This argument doesn’t hold water. But first, let’s cover the claim that previous secretaries had private email too. That one just isn’t true. Powell and Rice did not have their own servers and were not accused by their own president’s appointee of holding classified emails on their home servers. (Unencrypted, by the way.)
Let’s just dive in to the squabble taking place at Daily Kos. Here, a typical Hillary supporter states the predictable mantra regarding this scandal.
JUST STOP IT! They were sent to her and not classified at the time. Get over it already. How many times do you need the truth? Seriously. Do something useful if you cannot be bothered to read.
And the response:
The IC IG (Inspector General, Pres. Obama appointee) has definitively stated (This letter is posted at the bottom of this blog) that they were not marked as classified, but that they were definitively at the TS / SI / TK // NOFORN level.
Those initials are caveats with specific meanings. What the IC IG is saying is that the source of the information sent to Hillary on an unclassified system was either sigint or satellite derived.
Just like Armando last night, you’re blinded by Hillary love. Read the IC IG letter and please let me know what you think it means. And he’s a guy appointed by Obama, and respected as non-partisan in the Intelligence Community…
More back and forth,
So what did she do wrong? She was the recipient of the emails. She didn’t mark the emails as top secret. So why is this her problem. The person who didn’t mark the emails screwed up. Please explain.
Here’s the smoking gun:
Because, to repeat a cliche, everyone entrusted with a clearance has the duty and responsibility to safeguard classified information. She was head of agency, and should have recognized it as TS. Separately, by setting up her own private server, she moved the onus from the sender to herself. Instead of using the DoS system she essentially stated that she had the experience and expertise to recognize and safeguard classified information.
She failed. According to the IC IG she received TS SCI information, either didn’t recognize it as such or ignored it, and then improperly stored it on an unclass system…I have significant experience with this stuff. I hope it helps, if you’re sincerely trying to understand. – Source
Remember, we now know that Hillary Clinton’s private server was not encrypted for three months.
