America First? Trump approves $1.8B in weapons to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Kenya and UK

Breaking: President Trump’s State Department has approved $1,800,000,000 billion in arms deals to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and The United Kingdom. This is being reported by Marcus Weisgerber, the Global Business Editor at Defense One. His source is here.

Details of the arms deals were posted on The Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s website. According to Wikipedia, DSCA is, “part of the United States Department of Defense (DoD), provides financial and technical assistance, transfer of defense matériel, training and services to allies, and promotes military-to-military contacts.” Sounds like something that needs to be abolished. What? Rand Paul isn’t president? Dang.

There is a tiny shred of hope in the fact that these deals aren’t completely final. Emphasis added and areas highlighted by yours truly.

(DSCA) This proposed sale will enhance the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United State by helping to improve the security of an important ally [[WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN 9/11]] which has been and continues to be a leading contributor of political stability and economic progress in the Middle East. This sale will increase the Royal Saudi Land Force’s interoperability with U.S. forces and conveys U.S. commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security and armed forces.

The proposed sale will improve Saudi Arabia’s capability to meet current and future threats and provide greater security for its critical infrastructure. Saudi Arabia will have no difficulty absorbing these systems into its armed forces.

The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. [[YEAH RIGHT.]]

The prime contractor is unknown at this time. There are no known offset agreements in connect with this potential sale.

This notice of a potential sale is required by law and does not mean the sale has been concluded.

All questions regarding this proposed Foreign Military Sale should be directed to the State Department’s Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Congressional and Public Affairs, pm-cpa@state.gov.

This is one of the first big tests of President Trump. Is it America First?
Should we be sending weapons to a country that may have been involved in 9/11?

These were arms deals developed by President Obama, however they appear to have the tacit approval to move forward from President Trump’s State Department. Can this be stopped?
