Days of Our Covid_19 Lives
As I lay here on my bed, I’m tempted to post pandemic clickbait and complaints about the government… But you’ve probably been reading that all day. The question haunts me, “How do I make this time profitable…and I mean really profitable in a spiritual and personal sense?”
And, yes, the stimulus bill is going to bankrupt future generations and where, indeed, is the money coming from?
As Christians, if you are, we need to use this time to humble ourselves and seek forgiveness for our own and our nation’s sins. And if you can’t get your head around that doctrine/theology, a quick look at scripture will quickly correct you. What did Jesus answer when the people asked him about a tower that fell, a tragedy?
“…those eighteen on who the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others…in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” – Luke 13
And what does Jesus mean by “perish?”
Jesus speaking again, “Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28
This is a time for The Church to regain the doctrine of Godly Fear. Driving today, I heard a doctor on the radio saying that a little fear and panic is a good motivator to get people to wash their hands and to take necessary precautions to slow the spread of this pandemic. Yes, I know ya’ll are libertarians and that fear is used in a bad way by politicians to take our liberties. But the broader point still stands…and it permeates both Old and New Testaments. Do you believe it? ‘Lord, help my unbelief!’
So, what are you parents doing to survive the homeschooling? And what other creative ways are you using this time. Here’s some things I’ve been up to. You may need to click through to watch our reading of Narnia on Facebook. I believe you can still view it even without being a part of that CIA project.
