All but one U.S. President related to King John of Robin Hood infamy

A 12-year-old girl has created a family tree linking 42 of 43 U.S. presidents as descendants of King John of England (1166 – 1216). Only one U.S. president, Martin Van Buren, was not related to John.

Believe it or not, President Obama’s relatives include Dick Cheney, his 8th cousin, and George W. Bush, his 11th cousin. The actor Brad Pitt is the president’s 9th cousin. (FactCheck.org)

King John is known for signing the Magna Carta in 1215 and is also the villain of the Robin Hood tales.
