A Regressive Meltdown on The House Floor
House Democrats spent most of the day (and it continues) staging a sit-in and protesting because they didn’t get there way on new gun control regulations. Never mind the irony that the new rules they are advocating are based on the Orwellian ‘no-fly’ and terror watch lists (which have no due-process) designed by neo-conservatives like Dick Cheney. (Numerous groups right and left have warned about this tactic of using ‘no-fly’ lists including the ACLU.)
I suppose the high-water mark of irony came as democrats sang “We Shall Overcome,” a trademark of the Martin Luther King, Jr. era and the fight for equal rights, only this time advocating for the government to take rights away…and away from people of color, it turns out, as Sen. Dianne Feinstein accidentally pointed out in her tweet, see below.

(6/7) 99.5% of the database is foreign nationals and many are legally allowed to buy guns in this country.

So…this database, designed by Dick Cheney, is also racist? Did the Dems just discover their KKK roots? #GoGirl https://t.co/xW8xF9ZRzl
