How Woke is Indiana University?
Indiana University, located in Bloomington, Indiana, is a near perfect predictor of what is going on in the academic culture of most mid-size to major American Universities. Let’s put it this way, if you thought only coastal and Ivy League colleges are succumbing to racial conspiracy theories and cancel culture, think again. In fact, it’s probably already in your local elementary school. Below is a sample of what is happening at Indiana University. *If you are forced to attend an ‘implicit bias’ training session or some other ridiculous struggle session at your college or corporation, please document the meeting and post it using the hashtag #StruggleSession. Why “Struggle Session?”
A struggle session was a form of public humiliation and torture that was used by the Communist Party of China (CPC) at various times in the Mao era, particularly years immediately before and after the establishment of the People’s Republic of China and during the Cultural Revolution. The aim of a struggle session was to shape public opinion and humiliate, persecute, or execute political rivals and those deemed “enemies.”

…the victim of a struggle session was forced to admit various crimes before a crowd of people who would verbally and physically abuse the victim until he or she confessed. Struggle sessions were often held at the workplace of the accused, but they were sometimes conducted in sports stadiums where large crowds would gather if the target was well-known. (Sound familiar? Systemic racism?)
A few days ago, Joe Rogan’s guest, James Lindsay, discussed one of these video “discussions” which encouraged students to move far beyond the toppling of Confederate monuments. An official Indiana University account proudly tweeted. Be sure to follow James on Twitter for more on this topic, generally.
In closing the panel and opening Q&A, Jelani Ince calls on us to commit to the work and consider the removal of not only physical monuments, but discursive monuments, like narratives of rugged individualism that ignore racial inequalities.

A panelist during a townhall on "racial equity" at Indiana University reffered to 'racism' as "Whites genetic survival on the planet is based on oppressing people of colour, especially the black male, and that's what we're seeing today..." #StruggleSession #FreeSpeech pic.twitter.com/pZ8p51oYJp
