VIDEO: Conservative Hero, Morton Blackwell, Stands Against GOP Power Grab

A whole lot of ink has been spilled about the recent arm twisting and power grab by elites within the GOP during the 2012 convention. If you don’t know the details, you need to educate yourself by reading the synopsis put out by FreedomWorks. In a nutshell, these rule changes will severely limit the power of the grassroots within the party. These rules would have likely prevented candidates like Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater from getting any traction. You may have noticed a name cropping up time and time again if you’ve been reading about this subject. That name is Morton Blackwell. He oversaw the Reagan campaign’s youth effort, among many other distinctions, and founded the Leadership Institute. In the second video, below, you can watch eye witness video of Morton explaining the situation to a group of delegates during a meeting.

 

Very little video has emerged of Morton at the RNC this year. Thankfully, some video was captured of the intense back and forth in the delegate committee meetings.

It is essential that all conservatives continue to fight these rule changes. Perhaps this is a good point to bring up when the GOP calls you up asking for money?
