The GOP Investigates Gold Standard but Ignores Ron Paul

Let me get this straight. Mitt Romney states on Monday that he wants to audit the Federal Reserve and headlines today–including the front of Drudge–report that the GOP platform will call for a commission to investigate linking U.S. currency with gold. What’s next? Mitt Romney riding a bike without a helmet?

Looking back, 1984 is the last time gold was mentioned in the GOP platform–and it’s pretty weak sauce. “The Gold standard may be a useful mechanism.”
