Shots Fired: Rand Paul blames Hillary and her Republican lap dogs for rise of ISIS

Today, Senator Paul pushed back strongly against the accusation that his stand against President Obama’s desire to attack Assad in Syria (with support from many Republican neocons like McCain and L. Graham) helped to create ISIS. This was Senator Paul’s response:

I would say it’s exactly the opposite. ISIS exists and grew stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately, and most of those arms were snatched up by ISIS. These hawks also wanted to bomb Assad, which would have made ISIS’ job even easier. They created these people. ISIS is all over Libya because the same hawks in my party loved Hillary Clinton’s war in Libya, they just wanted more of it.

But Libya is a failed state and a disaster, Iraq really is a failed state or a vassal state now of Iran, so everything they’ve talked about in foreign policy they’ve been wrong about for 20 years and yet they somehow have the gall to keeping saying and pointing figures otherwise.

These statements echoed earlier criticisms he leveled again against Senators Lindsey Graham and McCain.

They supported Hillary Clinton’s war in Libya; they supported President Obama’s bombing of Assad; they also support President Obama’s foreign aid to countries that hate us. So if there is anyone who is most opposed to President Obama’s foreign policy, it’s me. People who call loudest to criticize me are great proponents of President Obama’s foreign policy.

Do you stand with Rand against the establishment?
