Weekend Watching: The Natural History of the Chicken

It’s a serious documentary about chickens (well, kind of serious) and it’s also hilarious on so many levels. The Natural History of the Chicken, directed by Mark Lewis, is a film for all ages. It’s the only film that I’ve bothered to gather my entire extended family together to see. I’ve seen a baby and a 90 year old captivated by this film. Give it a try:

Mark Lewis plays with the assumption of objective truth one expects from the documentary format and the results are delightfully hilarious. If you enjoy the film, seek out a HQ copy and also check out one of his first films, “Cane Toads: An Unnatural History.” Available for viewing here.
